Ricotta pie with green apples puree

This time, I want to tell you about a healthy recipe that I saw on a TV show from a cuisine channel of Latin America (ElGourmet.com).The cheff makes delicious preparations and low in calories.

This is a well-known traditional Italian dish to enjoy a rich dessert after lunch, at afternoon or at a party.: I'm talking about the Ricotta pie.

In this case, also served with a puree of green apples.

Ingredients for 8 servings:
  • 3 green apples
  • 10 cc vanilla essence
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 500 g skim ricotta
  • 3 eggs
  • 10 g ground cinnamon
  • Vegetable spray to taste
  • 10 cc lemon juice

Preparation:

1) In a bowl, put the ricotta, eggs, vanilla essence, cinnamon and baking powder. Process with a mixer. Peel and cut the apples into small cubes. Place over a bowl with plastic wrap and cook in the microwave for 4 minutes. Form a puree with a fork.

2) On a plate with parchment paper and vegetable spray, accommodate a large metal ring and place the preparation inside. Cook in low oven for 15 minutes.

3) Cool in refrigerator. Cut into rectangular portions and serve with a tablespoon of mashed potatoes aside. Sprinkle with cinnamon and ricotta.

This version is healthy because it doesn't have any mass: The stuffing forms a layer against the surface of the baking sheet, and can be served without problems. We'll have all the flavor of a typical Italian dressing with less than half the calories.
